I enjoy giving my friends a little something homemade every year. Usually it's some of my best efforts at baking but this year I was tickled pink to give the gift of "Jolliness" read, drinking themselves "Jolly". LOL!
So, the kids and I packed up one afternoon last week with the "shopping list" in hand and set out to get all the necessary ingredients to make some homemade Candy Cane Vodka & Bark. In the event you would like to give the gift of "Jolliness" too...I took pictures of the SIMPLE process of making Candy Cane Vodka!
What You'll Need to Make 6 (18oz) Candy Cane Vodka Gifts:
2- 60ozs Vodka
6- 18oz Containers (the original poster used mason jars but who would have thought finding those in the November would be impossible?!?)
36- Candy Canes
6- Shipping Labels
2- Rolls of Cellophane
3 Yards of Festive Ribbon
Candy Cane Bark (Recipe & How To will be posted Friday)
Remove the wrappers on 6 Candy Canes & place in a large Ziploc baggie
Crush with a kitchen mallet
Get your 18oz container ready; peal off label & wash
(I got these at Wal Mart for $1.98/each)
Put a funnel in the top of the container. If you don't have one...no problem!
Make one from an envelop or sturdy piece of paper like I did.
Empty crushed Candy Cane's into the funnel and shake into container.
Fill with Vodka.
Pretty isn't it?
Give it a shake or two...
This is what it will look like after all the Candy canes have dissolved.
Print a special message on a self-sticking shipping label and attach to container.
I added a recipe for a Candy Cane Martini...yummy!
After you've made your Candy Cane Bark (Recipe & How To will be posted Friday)
wrap entire present in cellophane and finish off with a ribbon!
For easy distribution, put the gift in a bag and voila...Candy Cane Vodka & Bark Gift!
